Our First Snowman

Yesterday there was just enough snow and just enough time when daddy got home, to build our first snowman with the girls. Kate had such a blast with her daddy! She kept saying Wahoo! Very cute. Meanwhile, I took pictures and Ellen pointed longingly outside at her sister and dad. So fun! We love spending time with daddy.

Then we warmed up with a bath! These two little girls LOVED it! They splashed and played...ahhh.

Wow, what an amazing year it has been! We have been so richly blessed. We have enjoyed spending so much time with family and friends. A few fun trips and many many days and evenings were spent with the Stewart's and Anderson's. We couldn't be happier.

Steven and I were able to feel like young kids again in January as we flew west to California and enjoyed a few days at Disneyland! We rode the rides and ate some delicious food! We had so much fun with our host family, the Gray's! California really does have great weather!

In the Spring, we welcomed another sweet little girl to our family, Ellen Jessica. She is sweet and happy and absolutely loves her older sister. The two of them play all day and are so happy. Ellen in crawling everywhere and her latest achievement, clapping! We sure love her!

Kate is growing right on schedule. She is smart as a whip and lets you know it. She is learning new things all day and some of her favorite things to do are: play with Ellen, play-doh, reading books, coloring, and loading up her 'bag' to the hilt. She loves Ellen and is such a joy!

September was a big month for us also; Steven got a new job and we moved into a townhouse. Steven works for Crystal Water, a water softener company, and is so happy. No more weekends and more time with our family! Yay! We love our little townhouse, it's quite a bit bigger than our small apartment and fits us perfectly. The girls share a room and love it!

Steven is also going to be finishing up school at BYU-Idaho this Spring and we are excited to be done with school soon. He has taken up shooting and golfing this year; which he is able to enjoy with family. I have become a little crafty and enjoy sewing car seat covers and minkee blankets. Cooking is also becoming a regular hobby of mine.

Kate got some Play-Doh for her birthday and we have been playing with it the last few days! She really likes the colors and spends most of the time making the same things in all the different colors. It's really cute!

A few years ago my family decided to carve pumpkins and it was so much fun, that we have continued to do it and made it a tradition. We eat yummy food, chat and catch up, and carve the pumpkins! We had a BLAST last night. Thanks mom and dad!

Some days are spent at home, all day. And others days we home for just a few minutes! Yesterday was one of those days! We picked a pumpkin from great grandpa Ottley's patch, had a birthday party for cousin Brigham, and watched cousins Ethan, Emily, and Dallin play soccer! It was a fun day!

Conference

I just wanted to make a quit little post about this past conference. I love hearing from our current prophet and apostles. I felt a strong desire to be more faithful in my personal scripture study and there seemed to be this overwhelming feeling of "it's okay, just try and do better". I'm grateful for personal revelation and the true gospel in my life.

Sunday Afternoon...

This last Sunday afternoon was filled with bottle feeding and bike riding. I asked Kate to 'talk' to her sister as it was getting near feeding time and I was finishing up dinner, so Kate dutifully went over to Ellen, and the fussing quit. I looked up and to my amazement and surprise, Kate had gotten the bottle off of the counter and stuck it in Ellen's mouth! Ha Ha! It was so cute, and she only wanted to continue feeding her sister! How sweet these two are!

Then we went on a family walk, and Kate got to practice riding her bike! She is doing so well and is mastering balance! It's fun to see her learn and grow! Good job little girl!

Birthdays, Showers, and Peach Cobbler!

I'm a little behind, but I really wanted to get these pics up! Summer is a busy time, even if you don't have big plans! We were able to enjoy some yummy cake and ice cream with grandma wood for her 91st birthday. We sure love you Grandma! We also had Auntie Julie's birthday and had some pretty good cheesecake!

My best friend is getting married in August! Hooray! (We love you Brian) It was so fun to see so many friends at her bridal shower! He's one lucky guy! Love you Belva!

We were also able to use our dutch oven and cook up some yummy peach cobbler with Julie and Travis! It was lots of fun and we are SO excited they live so close now! Love you guys! p.s. Don't I have such a handsome husband?! :)

We had a wonderful weekend with all of out family here. Ellen was blessed on Sunday and it couldn't have been more perfect. The weather was great! We started out with a 5k/10k Saturday morning and it was some good exercising! Then Steven and I were able to spend a few hours with my best friend and her fiance! It was great! Then Sunday morning came and everyone showed up and Ellen was blessed. She was sweet and peaceful and we are so grateful for the gospel. Thanks everyone for coming and making it so great! We love you!

Memorial Weekend!

We had such a great weekend! We headed to Island Park, to Bill's Island, to a fun cabin that my family has been to a few times these past few years. This was the first real outing with our new camera and it was awesome! Friday night we hung out and dipped in the hot tub. Saturday was filled with fun, we went to Mesa Falls, the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, and got the famous Ice Cream Cone! Sunday was relaxing and snowy and we managed to watch Harry Potter! Then Monday was pack up and head home day, but not before Steven and I were able to go on a little adventure to shoot his handgun! It was so fun! Kate loved spending time with her aunts and uncles! Thanks a TON mom and dad! We love you!

Little miss Kate turned 18 months a couple of weeks ago and well I have slacked off lately...I'm getting very excited/nervous for little Ellen to come! Here are some of my favorite things about Kate (not to worry, they are only a few, not 18!)

~ She is a little parrot and tries to repeat everything Steve or I say or do!
~ She likes to 'do' things herself and says it too!
~She gives great hugs n kisses to pretty much anyone she loves!

~She also says 'Hi' to get out of trouble...sneaky little girl!
~She is still SO happy and sleeps great at night!

Baby Ellen! We have decided, at least for now, which probably means forever, that her name will be Ellen. We will call her Ellen, Elle, or Ellie...whichever suits for the moment! We are still deciding on a middle name (suggestions welcome!) and are getting really exciting to meet this little bundle of joy sent from Above!

Merry Christmas everyone! What a great Christmas we had! So much time and fun was had at the Stewart's, Thanks tons mom and dad!, and such a great feeling of love and gratitude. Baby #2 is on HER way! We are SO excited for another little girl! Kate is going to be the BEST biggest sister! We just found out before Thanksgiving and are so happy! Picking out a name will be a little more difficult this time as we already had Kate picked out from the beginning... Oh well... She will have the perfect name and we are happy! Official due date: 4/17/2011!!!

So I had a wonderful birthday yesterday~complete with breakfast at Perkins (delicious), an early afternoon nap (thank you), putting up the tree (Hooray!), and a delicious homemade dinner complete with gifts and dessert. Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I posted and while I don't have the best excuse, life has been a little crazy around here! So this is our family for Halloween! Kate was our sweet little witch, who by the way did NOT like her costume. She seriously cried when we put it on her! Doesn't Steven look great as a 'Newsie', his beard is mighty handsome too! And I dressed in the famous Stewart 50's poodle skirt! We had so much fun and the Chili was awesome Mom!

Island Park...SO fun!

We have had SO much fun this last week. My parents have a condo in Island Park the first week in August every year and this year we decided to take part... a lot! Kate and I went up Friday with mom, dad, and uncle Craigy. We went to the pools the first night and the next day... we went to Big Springs, West Yellowstone (boy do I LOVE those Ice cream cones) and then back to the pools. But this time Auntie Stephy and uncle Jesse, and DADDY came! It was so fun! Then we went to church Sunday morning and in the afternoon headed to Sawtelle... It isn't the smoothest ride... but it was SO fun! It's beautiful and you can see the whole valley! Then our little family headed home for some time with the Stewart family! (FYI wackee 6 is a BLAST to play with you guys~!) Then Tuesday we headed back up again! We headed out as soon as we got there! We went to Earthquake lake... so cool, and sad... and to Hebgen lake and then back into West for another delicious ice cream cone! Steve, Craig, and I went swimming and grandma put Kate to bed! Then came Wednesday (Happy Anniversary Honey!) and we headed into the Park. It was so awesome! We saw a bald eagle, blue heron, tons of buffalo, elk, deer, and a Grizzly with her 3 cubs! It was awesome! We went to Canyon and saw the actually 'Yellowstone' and it is beautiful! We also went to West thumb, saw old Faithful at the perfect time, then went around Fire hole lake on the way out! It was so fun! We also stopped for the last and final ice cream cone of the trip! SO good!

It was such a fun day! I love you hon and can hardly believe it's been 3 years... I love you!

We had a great 4th weekend! We rode our tandem and had a blast with Kate's new swimming pool. It is perfect and super cute! She loves it and splashed and played for about 45 minutes! She loves her Uncle Craiger! So Kate and Ryan seemed to be entranced by someone other than the person taking the picture! Haha! So fun! We also enjoyed the fireworks with our Stewart family! Kate stayed awake for about 10 minutes and then zonked!

So it's been a while, but life has been busy and good. Kate is entering such a fun stage in her life! She is almost 9months, which is hard to believe, and the absolute JOY of our lives. We were able to see baby Maggie shortly after she was born and she is simply beautiful. We also spent Saturday with Bart, Em, and Ryan for Ryan's 1st birthday! That is just crazy! It was so much fun! The cousins had fun playing and it was good to see Bart and Em. Thanks for the fun! Love you all! p.s. More to come with Kate in just a few days... she has many new tricks to show everyone!

Tribute to Grandpa Wood

Grandpa Wood was very loved and a beautiful funeral was held in his honor last weekend. He will truly be missed but we are so happy for where he is right now. We love you Grandpa. P.S. Brian's song sounded incredible and the Stewart girls' sounded amazing! Love you Stewarts!

So here are so super cute pictures of our little one! She has started making this face like she is surprised or saying 'WOW'. Anyway, I got it on camera the other day and was super excited! (By the way, thanks grandma stewart for the adorable spring dress. it is perfect!) Then we continued our family tradition of egg coloring! So much has happened lately and well lets be honest, I have been a little under the weather and haven't gotten around to blogging about it. SO... Kate turned 6 months and is completely on target with her stats, we went to Logan a couple of times, I got a haircut, and my little brother returned home from his mission! We have been super busy and amongst the craziness have had a few colds and flus, but we are on the mend and life is feeling a little more normal! Whew! A few 'new' things

So we are now in the 2 vehicle club! This little truck is such a blessing! It is in great condition and has super low miles, plus it was a GREAT price! We are pleased with the 'new' truck and Steve is loving having a car to himself... and so am I! Oh and the pics of Kate... well Grandma and Grandpa Anderson brought this 'new' toy up for us to borrow for a little bit and the first few days I couldn't keep Kate out of it! So one day I was thinking... "I bet she is getting tired"... then I looked up and this is what I saw! How adorable huh?! She is my life and I love her. She is entering such a fun stage! Rolling and jabbering and attempting to sit... not successful at that one yet, and we LOVE her so much!

Em's grandpa passed away last weekend, so Monday we got to spend a little time with Ryan. Isn't this so sweet?! Grandma Anderson reading to her two babies! They both loved it!

So we have really, like for reals this time, started feeding Kate rice cereal. She loves it! Most of the time it's all over her mouth instead of in her mouth, but she has fun! I know it's more work, but we feel like she is ready and she is always grabbing at our food now! I thought these were some pretty cute pictures~ I can hardly believe she is 5 months!

Weekend with Cousins!

We had a great weekend with the Davidson's and Barton's! Saturday was spent at the Barton's with the 'boy's doing some more work on the basement. Looking good guys! Mom made some delicious stew and yummy rolls, and then we headed to grandma and grandpa's for a relaxing evening. Aren't these 3 so cute! We decided to take a picture side by side, and why not in their diapers?
Abbie was busy entertaining not one, or even two babies, but three of them! She is such a great help.

I took Kate in for her 4 month appointment last week and here are her stats: 14 lbs 5.5 oz (65%)

41 cm (50%), and 26 in (93%). She did really well with her shots even though she didn't love them. She is such a sweet baby! She actually started rolling over this last week! We can hardly believe it! She does this really cute thing where she smashes her face in the ground! It is really cute! Love you baby!

So this is what Steven got for Christmas. He started road biking last Spring and has thoroughly enjoyed it! He loves this kind of exercise and while the weather doesn't permit right now, I thought I would encourage his good habits through the cold season! I got him some new 'clip-less' pedals and some new 'biking' shoes. He also got a gift certificate to a bike shop and another water bottle for his many adventures come spring! Looking good honey!

Christmas was so much fun! We spent it with the Anderson family this year. Bart, Emily, Ryan, Steph, and Jess are probably sick of hearing how cute Kate and Ryan are, but it's true! Mommy had a birthday and so did baby Kate. She is 3 months old now! Such a cutie and so much fun! We love her. We decided to try rice cereal the other day, just to see how she would like it. This sweet little girl is 12 weeks old! Wow! We can hardly believe how fast time is going. She is growing so fast and is such a joy! She is starting to grab at things and loves to eat her fingers! We decided to get her a new toy... this cute Mobile! It is so fun. She loves to watch the little bugs go round and round. It has 4 different musical numbers and a light in the center for night time. It is really fun and she is loving it. What a sweet, happy, perfect little girl. We totally love being parents!

California Trip!!

Last week we went to Fullerton, CA. It was so much fun! We decided to fly instead of drive 18 hours in a car with a 2 month old baby! Definitely the best choice! Kate was perfect! She did really well on the flight and slept through both nights without making a peep! She was great. We were able to go to the beach, eat some fresh seafood tacos, experience In-and-Out Burgers, YUM, and enjoy a beautiful sealing in the Newport Beach temple. Steve had a companion that we are good friends with that got married. The weather was perfect and the traffic wasn't too bad either. It was so much fun and next time we'll go back and enjoy Disneyland! Thanks Gray family. We had a blast!

2 Months Old!

Kate is 2 months old! We can hardly believe it! She is so sweet. We took her for her 2 month check-up and she is as healthy as can be! She just smiled and cooed at the Dr the whole time he did her exam! She is 24 inches long and weighs 11 lbs 12.5 oz! She is growing just like she should be and is perfect! Then came the yucky shots! She was smiling and then... WAAAAA!! She let out a good scream but by the time the band-aids were on, she was smiling again! She is such a good baby! We love her. Happy 2 months Kate!

This last Monday night, my family got together and had our 2nd annual pumpkin carving extravaganza! It was so much fun! First we had a delicious dinner, with homemade rolls, and then the carving began! Aaron and Carolyn carved an old witch, Steph and Jess a haunted house, and Steve and I carved a BOO and a haunted house! It was so much fun! Thanks for the fun evening!

Trip to Logan!

Yesterday we took a day trip to Logan! It was so much fun! The fall leaves were so beautiful, Kate was happy and good, and we got to spend time with family. First we stopped at Bart and Em's. We had delicious homemade burritos and then let the little ones play while Em and I headed to Hobby Lobby! The boys also were able to check out a fishing spot! It was tons of fun! Thanks for all the help with the craft project Em, more to come on that! Then we went over to Brian and Kelly's. That was also a treat. Sam showed us all of his awesome karate moves and Viv dazzled us with her "black boots". Thanks for the fun day family! We love you!

Sleeping through the Night!

Okay so we have had a couple of great nights this week. Kate has slept through the night twice this week. We are so thrilled. I have been working really hard at helping her get on a schedule and although it isn't perfect or the same every day, she is doing so well... in fact sleeping through the night. When she doesn't sleep through the night, she only wakes up for one feeding and then goes right back to sleep. She is such a sweet baby and we love her!

6 Weeks Old!

So we can hardly believe that it has been 6 whole weeks! She is a growing girl and we love her dearly! She is starting to smile at us and it is so cute! Sleep deprivation is totally worth it for those smiles!

This little girl is super strong! A comment was made about how strong of a head and neck she has at her 2 week appointment and the Dr readily agreed, so this morning I said something like, "Mommy sure thinks you have a strong neck and would look so cute in your be'be' pod, but we'll wait until you are a little older!" Well Daddy heard me say that and came out of the nursery with the little chair! Isn't she so cute! We love her so much and she is changing every day! Who knew being parents would be so much fun and so rewarding!
We went to Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's on Sunday and put Kate on the floor on a blanket, just to hang out, and this is what happened. She didn't get much "hang-out"time! As soon as we laid her down, she had visitors! We love you Grandma and Grandpa!!

So we moved her to her BIG crib. She looks so cute and tiny when she's sleeping in her crib!
Look at her cute little smirk! This was about a week ago! Just hanging out with her daddy! They are pretty cute together. He loves his little girl.

We are so excited to have baby Kate here! She is so precious and just perfect! It was a long day and delivery, but we are so pleased with how well everything went. She was born at 4:58pm and weighed in at 6 lbs 13 ounces and is 21 inches long! She is just perfect! We love her and are so excited to be parents! Hooray!!

So I finally decided to be brave and let everyone that hasn't seen my HUGE stomach lately have a look. I feel pretty good most of the time and can definitely tell this little baby is growing. It's lots of fun to to feel her move and see her grow. She is really special already!

This is our new beautiful crib! We both saw it and immediately fell in love. It is so sturdy and durable. The color is perfect and we couldn't be happier with our choice of crib!

We finally decided on a car seat! We both like this one and it will work for a boy or a girl! So cute!

Us and I love it. It is smooth and so comfortable.

Steven's New Sport!

Steven recently bought a road bike and is loving it! Let's face it, running isn't anyone's favorite way to exercise, and Steve fits into that category as well. So he bought a road bike and has been out many many times since. He loves the exercise and enjoys the sport.

Today we had our very first ultrasound on our very first baby! We are so excited and the Dr. said the ultrasound looks very good. We had a hard time making out what everything is and where everything goes, but we did see the flutter of the heartbeat and we so thrilled! It made it all so much more real! Right now the little one is just 1/2 an inch, but that is good and normal. Soon the arms and legs will begin to develop and grow! They said our official due date is August 23! So mark your calendars everyone! Isn't this so great?! We are so happy!
